Calvin C. Austin Sr, Esq.

Calvin is licensed in and for the State of Florida and has practiced in Broward County since 2017 and Pinellas County since 2025. He is an experienced civil litigator and former federal attorney whose diverse background spans both public service and private practice. He began his legal career with firms handling complex civil and insurance cases before founding Austin Legal, P.A., where he represented individuals and small businesses in civil matters. As a Housing Unit Attorney for Legal Aid Service of Broward County, he litigated eviction and housing-related cases and helped protect the rights of vulnerable tenants, before serving as an Attorney Advisor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Board of Veterans’ Appeals.

In addition to his legal background, Calvin also served as a Police Officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department, where he developed firsthand experience in law enforcement procedures, investigations, and crisis response. His unique perspective from both sides of the justice system informs his pragmatic, disciplined approach to litigation and client advocacy.

Calvin followed an accelerated educational path, earning both his Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University by the time he was 23 years old. Calvin was also selected by his fellow December 2016 graduates to be Graduation Speaker. He was active in Moot Court Honors Society, the Nova Trial Association, the Black Law Student Association and served as Vice President of the Caribbean Law Student Association.

Currently, Calvin’s practice focuses on real estate transactions and litigation, contract disputes, wills, trusts, and probate matters, quiet title actions, partition disputes, contract enforcement, and landlord-tenant conflicts. He provides comprehensive legal counsel for clients navigating property sales, transfers, and estate planning, ensuring their interests are protected from negotiation through closing and beyond.
